YOGA THERAPY

What is Yoga Therapy (YTx)?

  • The YTx I offer is a one-to-one process of empowering individuals towards improved health and well-being through the teachings and practices of yoga and complementary disciplines.

  • Education and self-inquiry are fundamental to a growth mindset. Understanding how the mind, body, and nervous system work for you (or against you) is critical to your evolution.

  • I view YTx as a dynamic, cooperative collaboration focused on client-centered outcomes; the information provided on the confidential Intake and subsequent interview inform the direction, pace and ingredients of the practices.

How does a yoga therapist work?

A yoga therapist does not diagnose or treat disease. We view individuals in a holistic way that includes mind, body and spirit, and design practices to meet your goals. Clients seek yoga therapy for many reasons, including the relief of pain related to symptoms that accompany various disease states and conditions, to reduce side effects of treatment and to make changes in lifestyle that lead to increased health and well-being.

What are some of the techniques a yoga therapist might offer?

Practices may include yoga postures, mindful movement, breathing practices, guided visualization, concentration, meditation, journaling, mantra (repetition of a meaningful phrase), mudra (hand gestures), balancing, orienting and centering practices, somatics, embodiment, restorative yoga, etc.

"Kelli has taught me to embrace a new way of being and to intuitively foster and energetically allow a better daily flow in my life.
She has taught me how to pause... to listen... to accept... to evolve... to unfold."
- Abbi C.

Who are my clients?

I work with adult clients of all ages and backgrounds who are experiencing the negative impact of unmanaged stress, chronic pain, adverse life experiences, anxiety, mild depressive symptoms, or patterns of self-defeating thoughts and behaviors. Yoga therapy clients are often referred by physicians, complementary care practitioners, friends or family, and many seek out this therapy on their own. If you present with a situation I am not qualified to address, I will make a referral to someone with appropriate expertise to support your needs.

What is my process?

First thing's first...let's chat.
I like to have a casual, no-pressure, no-obligation conversation to learn how you found out about my work, and what is compelling you to reach out. Having an initial phone call or brief meet-and-greet at my studio (if local/preferred) helps us mutually determine if we're a frequency match, and whether we both believe that what I offer is appropriate and relevant to you at this time.

From there...two options:

  1. 2 Clarity Consults (90 min ea) Sometimes a phone call puts us on the track of "let's try this and see..." This package includes two 90-minute 'sample sessions' without the prerequisite Intake Forms, where you can dip a toe in the water, see what it feels like, and decide if you'd like to continue.

  2. Intake & Assessment (120 min) If the outcome of our phone call (or the persuasion of the referrer) evokes an instinctual "YES" within you, then we'll schedule an Intake & Assessment (see description on PACKAGES page). This will help me get to know you, your health history, mindset and desired outcomes, as well as observe your breath, posture and movement.

From here, we will schedule our private YTx sessions through either the 5 Sessions- or the Deep Dive Mentorship Package, depending on your appetite for growth and expansion, and desire for support and accountability.

My focus is on cooperative collaboration and client-centered outcomes. In support of this process, I may utilize videos, audios, handouts or other helpful tools.

"For years I have had chronic back pain brought on by many things over a lifetime of experiences, and a job that has a large amount of physical and emotional stress. Doctors always addressed the symptoms with no relief.

I met Kelli with the intent of trying something new focused on the root cause of the pain. Learning with her has vastly decreased my pain and increased my ability to do more. Kelli focuses on you as a whole system and allows you to learn more about yourself and how you relate to everything in your environment.

To me Yoga therapy has been a enlightening growth journey that has helped my back pain, and helped me to get better physically, mentally, and emotionally.
Kelli has a calling and a passion for helping others "Get Better." Kelli lives her "Why."
